World Living Statues

This is what I'm looking forward to this weekend. The 11th World Living Statues Event. This event is held every year here in Arnhem during the last weekend of august. These are some of last years impressions. More info here

Here´s hoping...

Next year will be just as good and the "Rio aan de Rijn" festival will be another great, fun succes. It has to be if over a 1000 people take part in it and 100.000 people line the streets, look out their windows and stand on their balconies enjoying the spectacle roam through the streets of Arnhem. Birds of Paradise

Here´s another great group, the Birds of Paradise. It funny the way you can pick up on people who are having fun. It´s infectious, like it was with this group. The smiles are real, the fun is tangible and they were more than happy and willing to pose for the camera.

Aruba Uni.........

My personal favourite Summer carnaval group in the parade and winner of the Public Award, Aruba Uni. I had great fun with the lady in the last pic when we were moving and bobbing our heads from side-to-side in the parade, she even recognised me later on at the end ceremony.

Here's a group...

Before I post more of the other pics I took at the "Rio at the Rhine Festival" here's a carnaval group the sent shivers down my spine. It shows just how inclusive this festival is and is another reason why I love it.
